Girl group NewJeans (Minji, Hani, Daniel Haerin, Hyein) has succeeded in surpassing 100,000 cumulative album sales in the U.S.
According to chart data on the 21st (Korea Standard Time), NewJeans debut album has sold more than 100,000 copies in the U.S.
Since then, Min Hee-jin, CEO of Adore, also shared a tweet containing this in person to congratulate NewJeans record.
Earlier, according to his agency Adore on the 20th, the NewJeans debut album "NewJeans," released in August 2022, sold a total of 1,036,811 copies (based on the circle chart tally) until February 11. NewJeans' "NewJeans" is the first time that more than 1 million artists' debut albums have been sold since 2011, when Circle Chart began accurate data aggregation.
In particular, NewJeans proved its popularity as a syndrome-class by becoming a million seller with a differentiated launch strategy without any promotional content.
"NewJeans" set a new record for the debut album of a girl group by selling more than 300,000 albums in a week after its release, and the single album "OMG" has sold 700,000 copies in the first three weeks since its release in early January this year.
Since then, NewJeans has continued to record "Ditto" and "OMG" as charts for five consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and "OMG" has ranked 74th on the chart as of February 18, 2023.
